PhD (Indiana) Prior to joining Price College, Professor Chidambaram held faculty appointments at Indiana University and the University of Hawaii. He has taught a variety of MIS courses and has received several awards for teaching excellence. His primary area of research deals with the application of information technology to support distributed group work in organizations. His work has been published in such journals as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, and Journal of MIS. He is the co-editor of Our Virtual World, a book that focuses on the transformation of work, play and life with the new media; executive editor of the e-Service Journal; and associate editor of Information Systems Research, Journal of AIS, and the Group Decision and Negotiation. Professor Chidambaram has served as a business consultant and lectured in several countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore and the United States. For the past five years, Professor Chidambaram served as the executive director of the Center for MIS Studies, a research center sponsored by a partnership between the Price College MIS faculty and the business community.  In 2007, he will serve as the program co-chair for AMCIS, a leading academic conference in information systems. His awards at OU include the Bruce Magoon Award for Service Excellence (awarded in 2003) and the Bruce Magoon Master Teacher Award (awarded in 2004).

TRACI A. CARTE [Top]Traci Carte
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

PhD (Georgia) Professor Carte's teaching interests include database management. Accounting information systems, and introduction to MIS. Her primary research focus is on leveraging technology to support diverse teams. Professor Carte's research has been published in such journals as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of the AIS, Group Decision and Negotiation, Decision Support Systems, Database Advances, and numerous national and international conference proceedings. Her research has been recognized by a best paper awards at MIS Quarterly in 2002 and a doctoral student award for excellence in research at the University of Georgia. She currently serves on the editorial board at MIS Quarterly. Professor Carte has also been recognized for teaching. She won the Advancia award for MIS teaching excellence in 2000. In 2001, she was given the UOSA outstanding faculty award. She has also previously been named a Nichols Faculty fellow, a Price College Teaching Fellow, a Bruzzy Westheimer Partner in Learning, and a Conoco-Phillips Partner in Learning. Prior to joining the OU faculty, she worked for several years as a data administrator and systems manager.

ROBERT C. DAUFFENBACH [Top]Robert Dauffenbach
ASSOCIATE DEAN FOR RESEARCH AND GRADUATE PROGRAMS,
DIRECTOR CENTER FOR ECONOMIC AND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH AND
PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

PhD (Illinois) Professor Dauffenbach's teaching interests include quantitative analysis, business economics, operations management and information systems.

He has published in a number of professional and academic journals and reports, including International Journal of Manpower, Journal of Economics, Review of Regional Economics and Business, Journal of Management, Journal of Labor Research, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, Journal of Economics and Business, Educational Resources Information Center, Journal of Economic Development, Measuring and Forecasting Engineering Personal Requirements, Oklahoma Quarterly Economic Forecast, Oklahoma Business Bulletin, Oklahoma Economic Outlook, Science and Engineering Manpower in Energy: Labor Market Issues and Outlook, Scientific and Technical Personnel in the 1990s: An Examination of Issues and Information Needs, Energy and the Southwest Economy and The Engineering Degree Conferral Process: Analysis, Monitoring, and Projects, among others.

Professor Dauffenbach has also served as a reviewer and editor for a number of professional organizations and publications. He previously served as president of the Association for University Business and Economic Research.

MATTHEW JENSEN
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT
INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Professor Matthew Jensen recently completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for the Management of Information at the University of Arizona. He holds a doctorate from the University of Arizona in management information systems.

Jensen’s interests include computer-aided decision making, knowledge-management/expert systems, human-computer interaction and computer-mediated communication. He has been an active member of a multi-disciplinary research team investigating credibility and deception and has published several articles and chapters related to computer-assisted credibility assessment.
Jensen’s research has been published in the Group Decision and Negotiation Journal and various IEEE journals. His dissertation, entitled “Effects of an Expert System on Novice and Professional Decision Making with Application in Deception Detection” was supported by funding from the Defense Academy for Credibility Assessment.

SHAILA MIRANDA [Top]Shaila Miranda
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

PhD (Georgia) Professor Miranda teaches in the areas of knowledge management, organizational impacts of IT, database management, and business data analysis. Her research interests include inter-organizational relationships such as outsourcing, the districting of venture capital funding, computer-mediated collaboration and virtual teams, and knowledge management.  She is also interested in critiquing and applying sociological and organizational theory.

Her work appears in Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of Logistics Information Management, Small Group Research, Information and Management and Data Base. Professor Miranda currently serves as Associate Editor of Information Systems Research and has previously served as Associate Editor of MIS Quarterly.

NING NAN [Top]Ning Nan
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

PhD (Michigan) Professor Nan teaches information systems and database management. Her research interests include behavioral and economic factors in management information systems. She has employed empirical analysis, experiments and multi-agent models to study difficulties and remedies of virtual teamwork, trust in the network economy and schedule and budget pressure in software engineering. Her work has been presented at numerous national and international conferences such as ICIS, AMCIS, Academy of Management, CSCW and CHI. Before entering the PhD program, she worked as a web and database developer/administrator at School of Public Health, University of Minnesota.

R. LEON PRICE [Top]R Leon Price
PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

DBA (Oklahoma) Professor Price's research interests include management information systems, systems analysis and design and computer auditing. Professor Price's articles have been published in Academy of Management Review, Journal of Systems Management, Journal of Microcomputer System Management, DATA Management, Information Resource Management, Information Executive, Behavioral Science, Journal of Purchasing and Materials Management and The American Oil and Gas Reporter. He has also presented papers at numerous professional meetings and seminars. He has coauthored a textbook for use in the MIS capstone course. He is a member of the Journal of Microcomputer Systems Management Review Board. He handles review assignments for other major journals. Professor Price is a member of the International Conference of Information Systems, Decision Sciences Institute, Association of Information Technology Professionals and Association for Information Systems. He was selected the industry contact for the International Conference on Information Systems and has served as MIS chairperson for the Decision Sciences Institute. Professor Price is an outstanding teacher who has won more that 20 teaching awards during his tenure at the University of Oklahoma. He has also served as the faculty coordinator for the annual Oklahoma Business Conference and on numerous university committees. Dr. Price is the Faculty Curriculum Director of the Energy Management Program in the Price College.

ALBERT B. SCHWARZKOPF [Top]Albert Schwarzkopf
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

PhD (Virginia) . Professor Schwarzkopf has a long-standing interest in teaching and research in the areas of database and enduser computing applications. Originally trained as a mathematician, he spent 15 years in OU's mathematics department. In 1984, he transferred to the College of Business Administration and helped to establish the MIS program. Positions he's held at OU include director of the Division of Management, director of the Statistics Consulting Laboratory, statistician for the Information Systems Program Office and, most recently, director of the Telecomputing Degree Program. He has been heavily involved in the development and teaching of the MIS curriculum at OU. Professor Schwarzkopf has had a number of service roles and honors, including chair of the University Faculty Senate, the University Computing Committee and coach of OU's Women's Club soccer team. He was twice selected as the outstanding business faculty member by students. Professor Schwarzkopf 's research interests include decision support and end-user computing in MIS and systems modeling in production operations management and general business. He has obtained several grants for research in various facets of MIS and business studies. His articles have been published in Research Policy, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of Business Logistics and Communications of the ACM, among others.

TERESA SHAFT [Top]Teressa Shaft
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

PhD (Penn State) Professor Shaft teaches systems analysis and design and project management. Her research interests include the cognitive processes used by IS professionals during system development and maintenance, the role of IS in environmental management and obtaining value from IT investments. Her work has been published in Information Systems Research, Management Information Systems Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Business and Society, Database Advances, Behavior and Information Technology and Journal of Industrial Ecology. She has given numerous presentations at national conferences and is a reviewer for several journals. Professor Shaft is a member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Science. She is a co-founder of IS-CORE, a special interest group of AIS.  In 2001 she won the Advancia award for MIS teaching excellence.  Before entering graduate school, she worked as a software engineer. Her research has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation.

RAJEEV SHARMA [Top]Rajeev Sharma
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT
INFORMATION SYSTEMS

PhD (New South Wales) Professor Sharma's research interests include the implementation of IS innovations, project management and the strategic management of IS. His published research includes articles in MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Journal, Journal of Information Technology, Proceedings of the International Conference on Information Systems, Academy Management and the European Conference on Information Systems.  Professor Sharma serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Strategic Information Systems. He has more than seven years of experience in the information industry, including executive teaching and consulting to large corporations.

RICHARD L. VAN HORN [Top]
PRESIDENT EMERITUS, REGENT'S PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS EMERITUS, AND CLARENCE E. PAGE PROFESSOR OF AVIATION AND AEROSPACE STUDIES EMERITUS.

PhD (Carnegie-Mellon) Professor Van Horn's teaching and research interests include management information systems, virtual firms, systems design, computer simulation and aviation management.

Professor Van Horn has been active in the information systems field since 1957. He is the author of numerous articles and papers and the co-author of four books: Automatic Data-Processing Systems, Business Data Processing and Programming, Management Information Systems: Progress and Perspectives and Information System Solutions: a Project Approach..

Professor Van Horn earned a bachelor of science degree in industrial administration with highest honors from Yale University; a master of science degree in industrial management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and a doctoral degree in systems sciences from Carnegie-Mellon University. He served as provost of Carnegie-Mellon, president of the University of Houston and president of the University of Oklahoma. Reitsumeikau University in Kyoto, Japan, awarded him an honorary doctoral degree in business.

ROBERT W. ZMUD [Top]Bob Zmud
MICHAEL F. PRICE CHAIR IN MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS
AND PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

PhD (Arizona) Professor Zmud teaches in the areas of information systems, electronic business, information systems management and technology management. His research interests focus on the impact of information technology in facilitating a variety of organizational behaviors and on organizational efforts involved with planning, managing and diffusing information technology. His scholarly publications have appeared in such journals as Management Science, Organization Science, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Decision Sciences, Academy of Management Journal and Academy of Management Review. Professor Zmud currently is a senior editor of Information Systems Research and MISQ Executive; and he serves on the editorial boards of Management Science and Academy of Management Review, among other journals. Previously, he was editor in chief of MIS Quarterly and a founding senior editor of Organization Science. Professor Zmud is a Fellow of both the Decision Science Institute and the Association of Information Systems, currently serves as the co-chair of the Academic Council of the Business Technology Management Institute, and formerly served as the Research Director of the Advanced Practices Council of SIM, International (1992 through 2004).
