Max Weitzenhoffer Executive-in-Residence April 21, 2009

Max WeitzenhofferMax Weitzenhoffer was appointed to the Board of Regents by Governor Brad Henry in March 2003 for a seven-year term and recently was named chairman of the board. He is a highly acclaimed independent producer of New York and London theatre productions and has won numerous Tony, Olivier, Evening Standard and Drama Critics awards.

With family ties to Oklahoma predating statehood, he has now established his home in Norman. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in Drama and has served many professional organizations including the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, president of New York's Circle Repertory Company and is a member of the league of New York Theatres & Producers. He is also involved with several community service projects in Norman and Oklahoma.

Weitzenhoffer has been actively involved with the University of Oklahoma on several levels including major financial gifts to the Athletic Department, the College of Fine Arts, Schools of Drama and Art as well as helping create the Department of Musical Theatre which bears his name. Most recently he gave the Fred Jones Art Museum his family's prestigious Impressionist Art Collection. Awards from OU include the 1992 Regents' Alumni Award, the 1988 Alumni Association's Distinguished Service Citation and an Honorary Doctorate at the 2000 Commencement ceremonies. In 1994 he was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

He will speak to students and faculty as part of Price College's Executive-in-Residence Series on April 21.
